Zhu Zhu (pronounced “Zoo Zoo”) Toy Hamsters are the biggest toy phenomenon since the re-release of “Tickle Me Elmo” in 2006. These adorable little battery-operated, interactive robotic hamsters are the hottest thing this Christmas season.  They are already sold out at many retail stores, but you can still get them online!

These adorable little pets are amazingly life-like – but no mess!

Each character has its own “voice”, and can be prompted to make happy sounds by scratching behind their ears. They have two modes: “Explore” and “Loving”, which are triggered by pressing a button on the hamster’s back.  In “Explore” mode they zoom around and will respond to touch, and in “Loving” mode they like to cuddle, and make adorable noises.

Boy Hamsters:

Mr. Squiggles – MOST POPULAR!!

Mr. Squiggles is light brown with a squiggle on his back.  Of all the characters, he probably looks the most like a real hamster, and is fast and energetic just like a real hamster.  He has a whole set of adorable sounds he makes when he bumps into things, and loooves to explore!

Chunk

The antithesis of Mr. Squiggles, Chunk is pure white, and his personality is mellow.  He’s a true surfer dude, and when he’s not riding his board [l ink to surfboard accessory], he likes to chill out. For him, chilling out definitely involves cuddling!

Girl Hamsters:

Pipsqueak

Pipsqueak is probably the 2nd most popular of the Zhu Zhu Hamsters, and is a beautiful soft yellow color that will appeal to little girls.  She is super curious, likes to zoom around and explore, but in her affection mode she is a snuggler.

Num Nums

Num Nums is a lovely gray color with a heart on her back.  Her favorite place is the Funhouse Hamster Kitchen [link].  She loves food, and if there is anything yummy around, she will find it! Rumour has it that she can smell a carrot from a mile away! Num Nums’ personality is a little bit finicky – she’s the most ladylike of the girl hamsters.

Patches – Dark Yellow with a white patch on her back

Patches is only available as part of a starter set like the Funhouse or Hamster House Starter Set [l ink].  She loves flowers, and in her explore mode, will hunt all over for them.

Recommended for ages 4-10.
